1. What we are
The World For Sale is an open marketplace. Independent sellers list their own items, and buyers purchase directly from those sellers. Except for items sold by Andy’s Equipment Exchange, we are not the seller of any item listed on the site.
2. Accounts
You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done with your account.
3. Seller agreement
- Approval. Every new shop starts as pending and is reviewed before it goes live. We may approve or reject any shop.
- First listing free. Each seller’s first listing is free: no platform fee is charged when it sells.
- Platform fee. Every sale after your first listing carries a platform fee of 6.8% of the item price. The fee is charged on the item price only, not on shipping or tax.
- Payment processing. Buyers pay sellers through Stripe. You must complete Stripe onboarding before you can sell. Stripe’s payment processing fee is paid by the seller.
- Payouts. Payment goes to your connected Stripe account, and the platform fee is deducted automatically at the time of sale.
- No subscriptions. There are no monthly or listing fees.
- Your listings. You are responsible for your listings being accurate, legal, and for shipping what you sell.
4. Prohibited items
The following may not be listed or sold:
- Firearms, ammunition, weapons, or explosives
- Knives
- Alcohol, tobacco, or vapes
- Perishable food, live animals, or plants
- Hazardous materials, including aerosols, gasoline, compressed gas, and loose lithium batteries
- Perfume or nail polish
- Prescription drugs or controlled substances
- Counterfeit goods
- Anything illegal or that requires a special shipping license
5. Enforcement
We may remove any listing that breaks these terms. Each removal for a prohibited item, restricted category, or spam/fraud counts as a violation, and the seller is notified by email. A seller’s third violation automatically suspends their shop.
6. Disputes between buyers and sellers
Every sale is a transaction between the buyer and the seller. Any dispute about an item, its condition, shipping, returns, or refunds is between the buyer and the seller. The World For Sale provides no dispute resolution, mediation, or buyer protection program, and is not responsible for resolving disputes.
7. Disclaimer
The site is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed by sellers, and to the extent allowed by law we are not liable for losses arising from transactions between buyers and sellers.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the new terms.
